By dropping the thumb loop out, the stylist can place their thumb anywhere in the crevice of the shear, giving you unlimited angles to work on and absolute stability. What a surprise and a JOY; high quality steel, very well made (by hand) and has lots of heft to slice thru any hair! Plenty of adjustment for those with “thick thumbs” and unlimited control. I am sold!
